KUCHING: KDC Motorsport Club president Lee Kwok Yih, better known as Fish Lee, will represent Sarawak at the internationally renowned D1 Grand Prix (D1GP) Thailand Round 5 and Round 6.
The event is scheduled to take place from Dec. 26 to 28 in Buriram, Thailand.
D1GP is recognised as one of the most prestigious professional drifting championships in the world.
The Thailand rounds will see elite drivers from Japan, Thailand, Europe and across Asia competing, placing the event among the highest-tier motorsport competitions globally.
Fish Lee’s participation marks a significant milestone for Sarawak’s motorsport scene, reflecting the growing capabilities and international recognition of local drivers.
As president of the KDC Motorsport Club, he has been actively involved in nurturing young talents, promoting drifting culture and strengthening the motorsport ecosystem in the state.
Organisers noted that the participation aims to provide international exposure, build valuable experience and elevate Sarawak’s presence in global motorsport.
The experience gained from competing at D1GP Thailand is expected to contribute to higher local motorsport standards and inspire more Sarawak drivers to pursue opportunities on the international stage.
