MIRI: The Miri Kedayan Association has stepped forward to provide financial assistance to families affected by the tragic landslide in Kampung Lereng Bukit.
Demonstrating solidarity and compassion, association members visited 74-year-old survivor Arabi Samsudin at Taman Jelita, here, where he is currently staying after losing his home and family members in the disaster.
During a brief ceremony yesterday, Siti Muntil, representing the Kedayan Association of Miri, presented donations to Arabi.
The association’s chairman, Mohamad Abdullah Jamin, expressed deep sympathy for the victims.
“We, from the Miri Kedayan Association, are heartbroken by the tragedy that has struck these families. This donation is a token of our support, and we hope it provides some relief during this difficult time.”
He also called on other organisations and members of the public to step forward with aid to help the victims rebuild their lives.
The recipients of the donations expressed their gratitude for the association’s care and support. The Miri Kedayan Association reaffirmed its commitment to assisting the community in times of need, encouraging collaboration with various groups in this ongoing humanitarian effort.
“We hope this contribution will bring some comfort and strength to the victims’ families as they navigate this challenging period,” Mohamad Abdullah Jamin added.
