KUCHING: Well-known local charitable organisation, Hope Place, has received essential supplies worth RM10,000 from long-time benefactor, Kelly Group, to aid vulnerable communities.
The contribution included special milk supplements, adult diapers and children’s milk powder, presented by group leader, Lau Hong Eng, to founder, Kelvin Wan, at their office along Nanas Road.
“We are truly grateful for Kelly Group’s unwavering support throughout the years,” said Hope Place in a press statement on Thursday.
The organisation currently supplies specialised milk powder and adult diapers to patients with serious medical conditions, including those who depend entirely on tube feeding for daily nutrition.
“For tube-feeding patients, these specially formulated milk supplements are not optional but essential, as they are often their only source of sustenance,” it said.
Each patient typically requires between six and eight cans of specialised milk powder monthly, creating a significant financial burden for families already struggling with medical expenses.
“Such milk powder is costly and beyond the means of many underprivileged households, making consistent public and corporate support crucial,” it said.
Kelly Group has consistently extended assistance to Hope Place, reinforcing a long-standing partnership dedicated to easing hardship among low-income families in Kuching and surrounding areas.
According to Hope Place, contributions like these ensure aid distribution remains uninterrupted, particularly for beneficiaries requiring continuous nutritional and healthcare-related supplies.
The organisation also welcomed individuals and corporate bodies to come forward and support its ongoing initiatives serving the less fortunate community in Kuching.
