SIBU: A total of 60 orphans from the Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Welfare Complex (KKJTHB) in Kemuyang here were feted by Kemas Sibu Recreation and Welfare Club.
Kemas Sibu Recreation and Welfare Club chairperson Nor Hadiah Hat said the community service programme themed ‘Santunan Kasih Ramadan 2023’ was an initiative with the Community Educator Committee of Tabika/Taska P.212 Sibu.
She added that one of the purposes of the programme was to create a bond among those involved and “hopefully nurture a sense of awareness and love as well as instil patience.”
At the programme, KKJTHB also received donations in the form of daily necessities from visitors.
In addition to being presented with duit raya, the orphans were also given goodie bags containing snacks and other gifts.
Also present were KKJTHB chairman Dato Mohamad Yusnar Matalie and manager Najilanisa Suhaili.
