KUCHING: The Khatam Al-Quran (practice of completing the recitation of the Al-Qur’an), ceremony held here serves more than just a religious gathering, but as a platform to strengthen spiritual values and foster unity among the state’s leadership.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg graced the ceremony which took place yesterday (Mar 24) evening.
The ceremony began with the Dhuha prayer, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Kauthar by Abang Johari himself.
It then continued with the Khatam Al-Quran, which involved other state leaders and guests.
The presence of Sarawak’s leaders reflected their shared commitment to uphold Islamic values and foster stronger ties between leaders and the community.
Earlier, Abang Johari also presented Ramadan donations from the Sarawak Islamic Council to students of ‘Pelajar Kelas Saudara Kita’, further demonstrating the state’s dedication to community welfare and inclusivity.
