KUCHING: Sarawakian boxing sensation Daeloniel “Kilat Boy” McDelon Bong is focused on sticking to his game plan ahead of his highly anticipated bout.

He will face Filipino fighter Prince Andrew Laurio at the Johor International Boxing Championship 2025 this Sunday (Feb 16) at Arena Larkin, Johor Bahru.

“I am confident, but not overconfident. I believe my opponent is better than me.

“Though I have never fought him before, this will be my second time facing a Filipino boxer since the 2023 SEA Games,” said Daeloniel, speaking to reporters at Kuching International Airport today.

The Sri Aman boxer, known for his lightning-fast punches and relentless training, has spent the past four weeks preparing rigorously for this fight.

“I’ll stick to the game plan my coach advised,” he said. “We’ve made some adjustments, especially considering his height and reach advantage. A few tweaks are necessary, but I’ll remain focused and execute as planned.”

Daeloniel, who holds the WBC Asia Silver Super Bantamweight and ABF Super Bantamweight titles, is looking to add another prestigious championship to his growing collection.
