KUCHING: Daeloniel Mcdelon Bong, better known as Kilat Boy, sees his special invitation to compete in the prestigious International Boxing Association (IBA) Intercontinental Boxing Championship as a major boost to his passion and drive.

“I feel happy because this is another success and, hopefully, another championship belt to add to my career this year,” he said.

Speaking to the Sarawak Tribune, Daeloniel shared that the invitation serves as a significant source of motivation, keeping him focused as he continues his rigorous training.

Currently ranked No. 1 in Malaysia and 210th globally, the 26-year-old from Sri Aman has shown no signs of slowing down.

In February, he claimed victory at the Johor International Boxing Championship 2025, defeating Filipino boxer Prince Andrew Laurio in an impressive display of skill and strength with a TKO finish.

“After my win in Johor, I had to wait for the results from the commission.

“It was only recently that I received the exciting news from my management,” he said.

Having captured the attention of boxing fans across Sarawak, Daeloniel has become a true local phenomenon, with many now eagerly following his rise in the professional boxing world.

He’s set to return to his training camp next week after wrapping up filming for ‘Tumbukan Emas’ where he is determined to push himself harder than ever before.
