KOTA SAMARAHAN: Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM) continues to expand access to quality education in Sarawak through the organisation of the Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Community Engagement Session with the Sarawak Community, Samarahan Zone, on Thursday (Jan 22).
KPTM Chief Executive Officer, Radzuan Razali, said Kota Samarahan was selected as a strategic and high-potential location to serve as an education hub, in line with KPTM’s aspiration to strengthen its presence in Sarawak.
According to him, KPTM, which has been in operation for more than two decades, offers over 50 study programmes ranging from foundation to doctoral levels, and has successfully produced nearly 70,000 graduates with a graduate employability rate reaching 94 per cent.
He also shared that the special Borneo Project initiative for students from Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan has shown positive progress, with almost RM1 million allocated last year.
The initiative will be continued to assist rural students and those from underprivileged backgrounds.
Meanwhile, Samarahan District Officer, Ahmad Abdul Razak, described the opening of the KPTM Samarahan branch in 2026 as an important step that is expected to have a significant impact on local socio-economic development through the provision of a highly skilled workforce.
