Korean coach gives S’wak squad boost

KUCHING: Sarawak Sukma shooting squad received a boost with the arrival of Korean coach Hwang In Kwon who came in April to help the squad.

Before the Hari Raya holidays, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan and permanent secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Hii Chang Hee and Sarawak Sports Coporation CEO Dr Ong Kong Swee also visited them training at the Shooting range at Petra Jaya last week.

The Assistant Minister and permanent secretary were at the shooting range to attend a meeting while taking the opportunity to motivate them by encouraging them in their training and preparation.

According to Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) sports co-ordinator for shooting, Christina Janggui, the 23 athletes also took part in an internal competition among themselves as part of their preparations for the Sukma in Perak this coming September.
