KUCHING: A festive spirit filled the streets of Kota Sentosa on Saturday night as residents gathered for the annual Christmas Parade which saw vibrant performances, colourful displays and a strong sense of community togetherness.
Speaking at the launching of the event, Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap expressed delight at celebrating the season, describing Christmas as a time of hope, peace and togetherness.

He extended appreciation to the churches, community organisations, volunteers and families who worked behind the scenes to organise the parade, noting that their efforts embodied the true spirit of Christmas.
Yap also highlighted the community’s resilience and harmony, emphasising that the strength of Kota Sentosa lies in its people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the constituency and supporting its continued development.
Meanwhile, the organising chairman of the event, the Sarawak Evangelical Christian Association (Seca) chairman Reverend Greman Ujang said this year’s parade was the third they had organised.
“Every year we organise the event, the number increases, meaning the response from different churches becomes more and more.
“Altogether, 18 churches came together involving the paticipation of 28 teams,” said Greman, thanking Yap and the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) for their support.
Also present at the event were Unifor director, Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Tan Kai, Kota Sentosa Penghulu, Penghulu Lai Boon See, Kapitan Lee Tau Voon, Mile 7 Dewan Perniagaan Kota Sentosa chairman, Kuan Jee Hen and other heads of churches around Mile 7.
