KUCHING: Krista Taman Centurion 123’s newly launched Kindergarten Traffic Garden has received high praise from Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Wellbeing Community Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah Abdullah, who described it as an exemplary initiative in promoting early road safety education.

Fatimah said that the facility served as a greater purpose rather than solely being a recreation in her speech during the official launch of the Kindergarten Traffic Garden held at Tadika Firdaus 1, Centurion, Jalan Stutong here on today.

“The Traffic Garden is more than a play space, it is a hands-on learning environment where children can safely experience real-life traffic situations in a manner suited to their age,” she emphasised.

She noted that introducing concepts such as road signs, traffic regulations, and safe pedestrian behaviour from an early age helps cultivate responsibility, awareness, and discipline skills that will serve children well throughout their lives.

Fatimah also commended the programme for its alignment with early childhood education goals, which aim to balance academic learning with character building, safety awareness, and practical life skills.

“This initiative reflects a forward-thinking and compassionate approach to education. It demonstrates how schools can extend learning beyond the classroom, preparing children for real-world situations through enjoyable and meaningful experiences,” she said.

She expressed her appreciation to the school leadership, teachers, and parents for their support in bringing the project to fruition, before officially open the Kindergarten Traffic Garden.
