KUCHING: The new building for the Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, enabling the centre to accommodate more students.

In a statement issued after the Autism Fundraising Foodfair 2025 held today (July 13), the association said the expansion is crucial in addressing the growing demand for enrolment.

“At our centre, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism by providing daily living skills training and nurturing their unique talents.

“However, due to limited space, we currently have a long waiting list. Each year, we work hard to raise RM750,000 to keep our fees significantly subsidised for families in need,” KAA said.

Gracing the event was Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud, wife of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

The Autism Foodfair, KAA’s largest annual fundraising event, featured 85 stalls offering local delicacies, pre-loved items, handmade gifts, and more.

Highlights included stage performances by KAA students and a volunteer dance troupe, drawing support from the local community.
