KUCHING: Kuching City FC secured their eighth league win of the season to cement second place in the 2025/2026 Super League standings.

The Cats moved to 28 points after 13 matches, recording eight wins, four draws and just one defeat, which came against league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).

A solitary strike from midfielder Muhammad Danial Amier Norhisham proved decisive as Kuching City edged Kelantan The Real Warriors FC (TRW) 1-0 at the latter’s home turf last night (Jan 2).

Danial Amier found the breakthrough in the 20th minute, firing home a close-range effort that beat goalkeeper Damyanov Damyan Valeriy to give Aidil Sharin Ishak’s side a first-half advantage they would not relinquish.

The victory extended Kuching City’s unbeaten run to five matches, further strengthening their grip on second place amid close competition from Selangor FC and Kuala Lumpur City FC.

League leaders JDT remain top with 36 points from 12 matches.

Kuching City, who have posted three wins and two draws in their last five outings, will next face JDT at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on January 13, where they will be seeking to avenge their 0-1 home defeat suffered last August.
