KUCHING: Kuching City FC are set to make their virtual debut in eFootball, marking the club’s entry into the global digital football landscape.

The development follows a landmark partnership between Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. and the Malaysian Football League, which brings Malaysian clubs into the internationally recognised football simulation title.

The inclusion allows Kuching City FC to extend its presence beyond the pitch, enabling fans to engage with the club in a digital environment with greater interactivity and reach.

Supporters will be able to represent the club in-game using updated player rosters and official kits, while taking part in matches that recreate real scenarios or feature customised line-ups against both local and international opponents.

The integration is part of the eFootball version 5.4 update, which sees Kuching City FC join 12 other Malaysian clubs under official licensing, further enhancing the visibility of Malaysian football on the global stage.

Beyond gameplay, the initiative offers fans a more immersive way to connect with the club, allowing them to experience matches from a player’s perspective within a competitive online setting.

It also aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen Malaysian football’s digital presence, supported by a dedicated Malaysia server aimed at improving connectivity and delivering smoother online gameplay for local users.

The rollout coincides with KONAMI’s continued esports expansion, including the ongoing eFootball Championship 2026 Malaysia Cup, which adds a competitive dimension to the growing community.

Among those present at the launch were MFL president Ab Ghani Hassan and Konami Digital Entertainment senior business marketing manager Hajime Matsumaru, alongside representatives and players from several M-League clubs.
