KUCHING: Kuching City FC celebrated its 10th anniversary in style with a community-driven jersey launch at Plaza Merdeka, declaring its fans as the heart of the club’s journey since its inception in 2015.
Club chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the milestone would not have been possible without the support of fans over the years.
“The most important person to Kuching City FC is the fan. Without the fans, we would not be here today.
“Rain or shine, near or far, you have stood by us. This celebration is as much yours as it is ours,” he said in his address during the launch here today (Aug 3).
The open-air launch event was symbolic of the club’s deep connection with the community, with fans, players, partners, and youth team members all gathering to mark the milestone together.

Apart from that, Fazzrudin also took time to recall the club’s humble beginnings in 2015, when it was first established under Kuching FA to compete in the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat. That campaign led to a memorable run, culminating in a place in the national final in 2016.
“We faced all sorts of challenges — financial, logistical, even doubts. But we persevered, and every step we took was made possible because of strong friendships and loyal supporters,” he said.
He highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships that have helped sustain and grow the club, including support from Lea Sports Centre, TVS, Press Metal, TRA, Catapult, Malaysia Airlines, CATS FM, and Mutiara Technology.
In a show of the club’s growing depth, members of the senior squad and the Under-18 team were also present. Fazzrudin congratulated the U18 side for their recent 1–0 win over Johor Darul Ta’zim’s youth squad, describing the result as a sign of promising talent and a bright future.

Looking ahead, he outlined a clear ambition to bring the Malaysia Cup back to Sarawak.
“That is our dream, but dreams alone are not enough. They must be backed by discipline, planning, and belief.
“With your continued prayers, presence in the stadium, and your energy, we will continue pushing forward, step by step — until that dream becomes reality.”
Also present at the event were Club chief executive officer (CEO) Iswandi Ali Hassan, board member Kamaludin Akil, and Lea Sports Centre managing director Raymond Sim.
