KUCHING: Kuching City FC-Miri’s President’s Cup squad were left frustrated after being forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Penang FC II at the Negeri Stadium in Batu Kawan on Wednesday.
The visitors had looked set to return home with all three points after taking the lead twice, with Amierul Safwan Hasdi Susalman striking in the 11th minute and Muhamad Zahran Khan Azman adding a second in the 62nd minute.
However, Penang FC II clawed their way back into the match, with Muhamad Haris Iskandar Mohd Roslan reducing the deficit in the 37th minute before Muhammad Akid Mohd Zamri levelled the score in the 79th minute.
“A valuable point for us, although we are admittedly disappointed to have let two important points slip away,” head coach Mohamad Hakimi Man told Arena Suara Sarawak.
He praised his players’ high fighting spirit and urged them to maintain the momentum in their upcoming fixtures.
