KUCHING: Kuching City FC coach, Aidil Sharin Sahak, has warned his players not to underestimate Penang FC, whose strong showing against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) has set the stage for a potentially tricky clash at Sarawak State Stadium tomorrow (Saturday, October 25).
The Singaporean highlighted that Penang FC’s narrow 2-1 loss to JDT during the Malaysia FA Cup quarterfinal was a sign of their quality and could pose challenges for his squad.
He reminded his players to remain focused and not take any opponent lightly during the match, which kicks off at 7:45 pm.
“Penang played exceptionally well against JDT. Our players have been reminded to stay concentrated and give their best throughout the full 90 minutes,” Aidil told Sarawak Tribune.
He emphasised the importance of executing the team’s game plan and strategy throughout the league match.
Kuching’s gaffer also confirmed that the starting lineup would remain unchanged for the encounter, stressing that consistency and teamwork will be crucial.
Aidil further urged fans to turn up in large numbers to support the team.
“We hope our supporters fill the stadium. Your presence will inspire the players and give them the extra push to perform at their best,” he added.
Currently, Kuching City FC sits fourth in the league standings with 13 points from six matches, while Pulau Pinang is ninth with four points from the same number of games.
