KUCHING: In a move aimed at bolstering youth football development in Sarawak, Kuching City FC and Miri FA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate for the upcoming 2025 President’s Cup.
Under the agreement, Miri FA will help manage Kuching City’s Under-20 squad, where they will compete as Kuching City FC-Miri in the tournament.
The team will be based in Miri throughout the competition.
The MoU was signed earlier this week at Kuching City FC’s office during a special meeting attended by officials from both organisations.
Representing Kuching City FC were Chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, CEO Iswandi Ali Hassan, and board members, Kamaludin Akil and Zainalabidin Jali.
Miri FA was represented by its president, Mohd Saif Jubaidi, and deputy president, Nazri Ahmad Lai.
The partnership is seen as a strategic step to enhance grassroots development and provide young talents with increased exposure in competitive football.
