KUCHING: Kuching City FC celebrates a milestone as three of its players are called up to the national team, highlighting the squad’s development under head coach, Aidil Sharin Sahak.

Club Chairman, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, said the national call-ups are not just a personal achievement for the players but a testament to the collective effort of the entire squad.

“This reflects the team’s ability to perform together and showcase the true potential of our players.

“It also serves as motivation for the rest of the squad to continue improving,” he told reporters after the World Mental Health Day 2025 programme at the Sarawak State Stadium, Petra Jaya, today.

The three players representing Kuching City FC at the national level are goalkeeper Muhammad Haziq Nadzli, winger Muhammad Ramadhan Saifullah, and naturalised forward Jordan Mintah.

Fazzrudin also expressed hope that more Sarawak-born players from Kuching City FC will follow in their footsteps and earn the chance to wear the national jersey in the future.

Looking ahead, the club is preparing for its Malaysia FA Cup 2025 quarter-final first leg against Terengganu FC on October 18 at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium.

“At the moment, the team is still off duty, but I am confident that Coach Aidil has something up his sleeve to prepare for the next challenge,” he added.

Players will be sharpening their skills through regular training sessions and friendly matches, including a warm-up against the club’s President’s Team.

“We ask for the prayers and support of our fans and all Sarawakians so that Kuching City can secure a positive result in Terengganu,” he said.
