KUCHING: With the 2024–25 season drawing to a close, Kuching City FC have begun laying the foundation for next season, with player recruitment plans already in motion.
Club chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman confirmed that head coach Aidil Sharin will remain at the helm and had already proposed several names to strengthen the squad.
The club are currently in advanced negotiations with three potential signings, including a Sarawak-born player currently making waves outside the state.
“Aidil will continue with us, and he has identified key players for recruitment.
“We’re in talks with three individuals, and there will be announcements soon, some of which may come as a pleasant surprise,” Fazzrudin told reporters during a Hari Raya open house at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre on Thursday.
While not all the incoming players are from Sarawak, Fazzrudin hinted at the possible return of a local talent – a move expected to resonate strongly with home supporters.
“We are not planning a major overhaul of the squad.
“The objective is to bring in targeted reinforcements that can improve squad depth and performance without disrupting continuity,” he said.
Kuching City FC are positioning themselves for a more competitive campaign next season, banking on stability and strategic signings to build on their current progress.
“Once the signings are finalised, we will make the announcements accordingly,” Fazzrudin added.
The club’s measured approach signals intent to elevate their standing in domestic football, with hopes that a strong finish to this season, coupled with timely reinforcements, will set the tone for a promising 2025.
