KUCHING: Kuching City FC must be at their most disciplined when they face Terengganu FC on Friday (May 1), with head coach, Aidil Sharin Sahak, warning against costly mistakes ahead of a tough league encounter.
Aidil stressed the importance of consistency and focus throughout the match, especially against East Coast side Terengganu, The Turtles, who are recognised for their quality and attacking threat.
“It is going to be a tough game. We know Terengganu’s quality is very good. We must be consistent with our play and stay disciplined.
“We cannot repeat the mistakes we made against DPMM. We have to stay focused and avoid simple errors,” he told Sarawak Tribune when contacted today (Apr 30).
However, the Cats will head into the fixture with added concern as Joao Pedro and Shahril Sa’ari have both been ruled out due to injury.
Despite the setbacks, Aidil is expected to push for a more organised and controlled performance as Kuching City aim to tighten their game management.
The Cats, currently third with 44 points, will host fifth-placed Terengganu (33 points) at Stadium Negeri in Petra Jaya.
The last meeting between both sides ended in a 1-1 draw at Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin on December 5 last year.
