KUCHING: Kuching Dodgeball Association (KDA) officially launched the second season of the Kuching Dodgeball Social League (KDSL) on October 1, 2025, at Arena Sukan, bringing together five teams in a community-driven competition that continues to grow in popularity.

The season opened with thrilling Game Week 1 matches as Tsuwave delivered a hammering of 12-1 victory over CATalyst, while Phantom Hives narrowly defeated Green Horns 5-3 in a tightly contested showdown.

The other participating team, Orion, is set to start off Game Week 2, next Wednesday.

A statement issued recently by KDA said that Darren Robin, Manager of KDA, highlighted the increasing enthusiasm among players, noting that the league has become an avenue for both casual and competitive athletes.

“I won’t say there is much difference in KDSL Season 2. However, what really stands out is that more social players are now taking this league as an opportunity to be more competitive.

Players shake hands after a match.

“We also see teams from Season 1 returning with greater determination, having put in proper training to improve their performance this season.” he stated.

“My hope for KDSL Season 2 is the same vision I have always held for the community, a platform for players to enjoy dodgeball, both socially and competitively,” he added.

KDA Secretary, Ryshaune Lee, outlines on what to expect in the near future for dodgeball in Kuching.

“KDSL Season 2 is more than just a league. We at KDA are grateful for the support of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development towards this program, and there will definitely be more in the future,” he said.

“KDSL Season 2 is just a warmup for something big coming up this year end, and we hope that with the league on-going, it will be the perfect opportunity for the teams to gel together for what’s coming soon,” he stated.

The Kuching Dodgeball Social League is expected to run weekly matches, offering continuous opportunities for players to showcase their skills, and for the public to engage with the fast-growing dodgeball community.
