KUCHING: In an effort to enhance this year’s Kuching Festival experience, the Kuching Gastronomy Association, in collaboration with the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), has introduced a brand new online food promotion platform for the public and food vendors alike.
The much-anticipated Kuching Festival, set to officially kick off on July 25 continues to be a proud celebration for the people of Kuching and a key platform to showcase the city’s unique cultural and culinary charm to the world.
Each year, the festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors who flock to experience its vibrant atmosphere, cultural performances, and most notably, its extraordinary variety of local and international cuisine to help vendors connect better with customers during this year’s festival.
“We encourage all vendors to take full advantage of these online platforms, especially the newly launched Great Web App (https://great.beverse.app), developed in collaboration with the KuchingDEAL information platform,” said MBKS Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng through a press statement yesterday.
“This app allows vendors to upload menus, stall photos, and important details for free, while the public can easily search, bookmark, and rate their favourite stalls. This will help both customers and vendors enjoy a more organised and interactive festival experience.”
“The use of these online resources marks a significant step forward in modernising Kuching’s food and beverage ecosystem. Vendors are urged to proactively promote their stalls, showcase their unique food offerings, and provide festival-goers with more convenient access to information and choices before arriving at the venue,” he said.
Vendors are also reminded to upload their details early in order to maximise promotional opportunities through the platform, both in the lead-up to and during the festival period.
Additionally, participating vendors stand to gain more visibility through social media promotions coordinated by the platform operators.
With the support of these digital tools, MBKS hopes that this year’s Kuching Festival will be elevated to even greater heights. Vendors are encouraged to follow guidelines, operate with professionalism, and embody the welcoming spirit Kuching is known for.
