Kuching gets new Resident

KUCHING: Dayang Joanita Azizah Abang Morshidi is the new Resident of Kuching Division, replacing Norleha Shariff.

She assumed the role effective April 15.

Prior to her new appointment, Dayang has held various positions across different state government agencies.

Meanwhile, the handover of duties ceremony took place at the Kuching Resident Office yesterday (Apr 22) between outgoing and incoming Residents.

In her brief speech, Dayang hoped for cooperation from all staff members of the Kuching Resident Office, similar to that extended to previous Residents.

Norleha also gave a briefing on the functions of her office as a leading agency, working with District and Sub-District Offices to organise various programme at the Kuching division level, including the Sarawak Delta Geopark, Sarawak Regatta, Tasik Biru Festival, Telaga Air Festival, and the management of Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK).

Also present at the ceremony were Kuching District Officer Solfi Jebal; Bau District Officer Constantine Gerald David Jonas; Lundu District Acting Officer Muhammad Isa Limon; and Padawan Sub-District Office administrator Julius Scott Sapong.
