KUCHING: The city centre is gearing up for a vibrant weekend as the third edition of the Kuching International Busking Festival (KIBF) returns to fill it with music, dance and creativity.

The two-day festival will take place this coming Friday and Saturday (September 19 and 20) from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, promising residents and visitors an unforgettable cultural experience.

Utama Toastmasters Club, in a statement on Wednesday, said the annual festival will light up the areas around Carpenter Street, China Street, and the Main Bazaar with a variety of street art performances.

“Singers, musicians and dancers will showcase their talents while competing for the many prizes up for grabs,” it said.

The statement added that this year’s festival offers something different with the introduction of a special Soapbox, providing a platform for Toastmasters and their associates to sharpen their public speaking skills before a live audience.

“Meanwhile, the Merry Singers will lead the Open Mike Karaoke Station, giving visitors the chance to perform spontaneously,” it said.

The public is invited to join in this unique annual experience, which promises entertainment, creativity and a carnival-like atmosphere in the heart of the city.

For more information, members of the public may contact Toastmasters Division D Public Relations Officer, Stanley Gona Chee Khiong, at +6012-8865138.
