KUCHING: The Kuching Journey Planner mobile application is now available for Android users, allowing commuters to track Bas.My Kuching buses in real time and plan their journeys more efficiently.
According to Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak Chairman, Michael Kong Feng Nian, the launch of the first Bas.My Kuching service along the Saujana-Serian route has been met with strong public support and valuable feedback, which the board greatly appreciates.
“One of the most frequently raised requests from commuters has been the ability to track the live location of our buses.
“We have listened closely and are pleased to announce the launch of the Kuching Journey Planner mobile application which is now available in beta mode on the Android Play Store,” he said in his official Facebook post today.
He said the application is designed to enhance the commuting experience by allowing users to track real-time locations of buses under the Bas.My Kuching service, plan their journeys more effectively, and also access updated route and schedule information at their fingertips.
“As the application is still in beta mode, we want to be clear, this is just the beginning.
“We understand that there may still be bugs or areas for improvement, and we welcome and value all feedback from users.
“Your input will help us fine-tune the application and ensure it meets the needs of our community,” he added.
He also said at the moment, the application is available exclusively on Android devices.
“However, we are actively working to improve it and will be rolling out a version on the Apple App Store once we are confident it is ready for full release.
“We urge all Bas.My Kuching users to try out the Kuching Journey Planner and send us your suggestions and feedback,” he said.
Kong said the setting up of the mobile application within three months from the launch of its first route shows their commitment to make public transportation more convenient, reliable and accessible for everyone.
“This is another step forward in the modernisation of the public transport in Sarawak and we will continue in our efforts to uplift the public transportation industry,” he said.
