KUCHING: The Kuching Port Authority (KPA) recorded 325,431 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2025, up from 305,197 TEUs in 2024.
The figures were disclosed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) during an official working visit by Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Majang Renggi, to Senari Terminal on April 17.
The visit was conducted to review the performance of KPA as well as assess ongoing and planned development projects aimed at supporting the state’s logistics sector and economic growth under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
The MIPD also presented updates on key infrastructure projects, including a 250-metre wharf extension, container yard expansion and maintenance dredging works.
Also present were MIPD Deputy Permanent Secretary Latiff Coupon, Port adviser Datuk Ian James, KPA’s General Manager Robert Lau, SM Inland Port’s Managing Director Noble Pang, as well as senior officers from MIPD and KPA.
