KUCHING: The Kuching Taekwondo and Self-Defence Club (WTF) has dominated the State Interclub Taekwondo Championship 2025, collecting 37 gold, 24 silver, and 25 bronze medals from its 90-member team.
The championship, held recently at Dewan Tertutup Sukan SSC Mukah, highlighted the club’s commitment to excellence and continuous development in the sport.
Under the guidance of coaches Tan Cheng Qiang, Eimaran Ghaffary Mohd Daud, and Virtlam Umpau, the team’s performance was a testament to rigorous training and dedication.
In a statement issued today (Nov 17), the coaches extended their heartfelt gratitude to Azizul Annuar Adenan, President of the Sarawak Taekwondo Association (TM/WT); State Technical Chairman Grand Master Tan Check Joon; club advisors; technical assistants; as well as the parents, guardians, and supporters whose unwavering support was crucial to the team’s success.
“Their collective contributions were instrumental in enabling the team to perform at its best.
“The coaches also conveyed their gratitude to coaches and athletes from other divisions for their sportsmanship, collaboration, and mutual encouragement during the championship,”the statement added.
Additionally, the statement added that buoyed by this strong performance, the Kuching Taekwondo and Self-Defence Club (WTF) remains committed to further strengthening its training programmes and looks forward to continued progress in future tournaments.
