KUCHING: The Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) recently hosted a 21-member taekwondo team from Seoul, Korea for a Short-Term Overseas Training Camp, marking a meaningful international exchange for both teams.
The visiting Yeongdo Taekwondo Team from Seoul trained alongside local coaches and players, focusing on technical drills, sparring sessions and coaching exchanges.
The camp stressed on skill development, training methodology and cultural understanding through sport.
According to coach-in-charge Tan Cheng Qiang, the joint training sessions provided valuable exposure and inspiration for the club’s athletes and coaching team.
“We are grateful to the Yeongdo Taekwondo Team for their commitment, professionalism and willingness to share their experience. This camp has been truly enriching for everyone involved.”
He also expressed his sincere appreciation to Grand Master Tan Check Joon for his strong support and guidance throughout the programme, which contributed significantly to the success of the training camp.
Throughout the programme, participants built friendships, exchanged ideas and engaged in intensive training sessions.
