KUCHING: Classical music guitarist and civil engineer, Ting Sii Yu, has been elected as the 37th President of the Kuching Toastmasters Club (KTMC), following the club’s Annual General Meeting held last Sunday.
Ting takes over the presidency from Albert Loi, who concluded his term by expressing heartfelt thanks to his committee and confidence in the club’s future leadership.
“I am retiring with the comforting thought that KTMC is in good hands and will continue to flourish as it has since its establishment in 1988,” said Loi.
The new executive committee was also announced during the meeting.
Serving alongside Ting for the 2025-2026 term are: Immediate Past President (Ex-Officio) Loi; Vice-President Education, Wee Pei Chai; Vice-President Membership, Johnathan Wong; Vice-President Public Relations, Alice Ong; Secretary Gregory Tan; Treasurer Chester Bong; and Sergeant-at-Arms, Dr Aaron Ling.
Committee Members, Janice Lim and Mike Lim, were also appointed.
The Kuching Toastmasters Club, renowned for its dedication to developing public speaking and leadership skills, holds its meetings on the first and third Sunday nights of every month.
