SIBU: Residents of longhouses in Bawang Assan are still experiencing lack of basic facilities, said Progressive Democratic Party Bawang Assan division Youth chief Joshua Ting.
Ting and his team recently paid a visit to 10 longhouses in Bawang Assan.
“We want to hear and see the problems faced by the longhouse residents.
“Through this visit, I came to know that the biggest problem they are facing is the lack of water supply, which has forced them to rely on rainwater.
“Besides that, some units in a couple of longhouses are still facing power supply problems.
“The lack of these basic facilities has caused much inconvenience to the residents,” he added.
Ting hoped that the relevant agencies would take immediate action to upgrade the infrastructures at the area so that the villagers can have a more comfortable life.
