KOTA SAMARAHAN: It will be a relaxing and joyous occasion at Taman Samarindah, Bandar Riyah on this Saturday 8 July.

This event will be the “Lan Berambeh and NgilingTikai” celebration that will place at the Open Food Court, Everise from10.00am to 11.30pm. It is organised by the village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) in collaboration with the Community Bistari.

The ceremony is an open house concept held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Adilfitri and NgilingTikai, to mark the closing of Gawai Dayak 2017.

Stakan State Assemblyman Dato Sri Mohamad Ali Mahmud will be guest of honour to officiate at the event at 8.00pm followed with the dinner.

Sapri Noh Hassan and Jemain Chairman for JKKK and Community Bistari respectively with their committees will be receiving all guests accompanied by full cultural dance presentations, said Dunstan Ranggau, the appointed Tuai Gawai for the ‘NgilingTikai’ occasion.

This is the second year that Raya Adilfitri and Gawai Dayak celebration being held to provide opportunity for the Dayaks and non-Dayaks to celebrate together in the concept of 1Malaysia

Starting at 10.00am guests will be entertained by cultural dances, karaoke sessions, stage performances by Elvis Presley tribute artistes as well as by local artistes. There also will be karaoke singing contest using the theme ‘Hari Raya and Gawai Dayak’ songs for three categories namely Teens, Women/Men (22years old & below) and Open. Entry Forms are obtainable from Perpustakaan Desa, Samarindah during office hours. Free registration can be done on the spot at the venue on 8 July, 2017, and please bring your own CDs. The occasion will be more fun and merrier with performances of the traditional Malay Dance called the “Bermukun” by a team from Asajaya.
