SIBU: A total of 59 beneficiaries have received welfare aid from Lanang MP Alice Lau.
Along with the distribution of welfare aid, Lau also allocated Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds to 35 organisations and schools.
The welfare aid saw her providing educational assistance, death benefits, medical aid, Lanang newborn benefits, and other forms of support.
“By distributing these aid funds, I hope that the beneficiaries will feel the warmth of society. I also aim to inspire more people to show compassion and help those truly in need through various means, working together to build a caring and compassionate society,” said Lau who is Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat in a press statement Tuesday (Sept 9).
In addition, she reminded the representatives of organisations that they need to submit reports after receiving the grants and hosting events.
“This is part of the culture of transparency and integrity, to ensure accountability on how the grants are used,”she said.
She stated that organisations failing to submit reports would be blacklisted by the relevant authorities, which could result in their next application being rejected.
Constituents in Lanang who wish to apply for dialysis aid, educational aid, death benefits, medical aid, disaster aid, or other assistance may visit the Pusat Khidmat Lanang MP, Alice Lau at No. 2, Lorong Lanang 82, during office hours.
