‘Landas Azam Kasihnya Warisan’ dominant on Day One

The Landas teams dominate the opening day of Sarawak Regatta 2025.

KUCHING: Landas Azam Kasihnya Warisan 1 showcased their dominance on the opening day of the Sarawak Regatta 2025, setting an early benchmark on the river.

They clinched first place in the ‘Raja Sungai Piala TYT’ (local category) men’s Heats A this morning with an impressive 7 minutes and 4 seconds, edging out the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA)-10, who finished second at 7 minutes and 6 seconds, while Udak-36 took third with 7 minutes and 9 seconds.

In Heats B, the final event of the day, Landas Azam Kasihnya Warisan 2 led the pack with 7 minutes and 27 seconds, followed by Udak-37 at 7 minutes and 34 seconds and Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) in third place with 7 minutes and 41 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the Piala Antarabangsa Borneo open category, Landas 1 once again proved unstoppable, topping men’s Heats A with a blistering 6 minutes and 57 seconds.

Bandaraya Ku finished second at 7 minutes and 2 seconds, followed closely by Udak-30 in third place with 7 minutes and 3 seconds.

In the afternoon’s men’s Heats B, Bandaraya Ku claimed first in 7 minutes and 3 seconds, Landas 3 placed second at 7 minutes and 8 seconds, and Enraz Cahaya Zen-15 finished third with 7 minutes and 13 seconds.

The opening day featured 13 categories – five in the morning and eight in the afternoon.

On the second day tomorrow, Saturday (November 1), 15 categories will be contested, with the first race starting at 9:00 am.

The thrilling races drew large crowds to the Kuching Waterfront, as spectators gathered to witness the excitement and spectacle of the state’s premier river event.
