KUCHING: The city will soon glow with the warm lights of unity, community spirit and compassion as the Lantern Charity Walk 2025, Reunion in Cat City, takes place on September 27 at the MBKS foyer, starting from 6:00 pm.

This meaningful three-kilometre (3-km) fun walk invites participants of all ages to walk hand-in-hand with lanterns, lighting up Kuching for a charitable cause.

Organised by JCI Kuching, co-organised by Runati, managed by CJC Kuching, the event is an initiative by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and aims to bring the community together in support of Hope Place Kuching, a local non-government organisation dedicated to helping underprivileged families and individuals in need.

“This year’s Lantern Walk is more than just a scenic stroll – it’s a heartfelt movement to foster connection among families, promote multi-racial harmony, and give back to society.

“We invite everyone to join us for a beautiful evening of lights, love and giving,” said the organising chairperson through a press statement on Monday.

“Every lantern held represents a light of hope we are bringing to others.”

The 3-km Walk begins and ends at the MBKS foyer.

Those interested can join with a registration fee of RM50 for the package A single ticket and RM160 for the Package B bundle tickets of four.

Participants will receive a T-shirt, a DIY LED lantern, RM10 cash voucher and a digital certificate.
