KUCHING: Sarawak made a strong showing at the Asean MyCyberHero 2025 competition, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), with three of its teams securing places in the top four of the Rookie category.
SK St David Padawan carved its own piece of history by becoming the only school in Malaysia to send two teams to the regional-level competition.
The two rookie teams, CyberVengers and CyberCops, proved their mettle on the Asean stage, securing 4th and 6th places overall in the Rookie category, respectively.
CyberVengers, comprising Yeshua Eleazar Martin, Lourdes Camilla Mercy Nicholas, and Harneld Horatio Loyd Jakri, coached by Sharifah Nurul Ain Aqilah Wan Abdurahman, claimed the 4th spot.

Meanwhile, CyberCops, who came in 6th place, included team members Yohanes Rovaelson Eldrie Robson, Andrea Macayla Grace Nicholas, and Cecilia Aliana Samelie, under the guidance of Crystal Callista Yunus.
In the overall Rookie results, Sarawak stood out with three teams among the top four: Krokop 18 — SJK Chung Hua Krokop (3rd place); CyberCops — SK St David, Padawan; CyberVengers — SK St David, Padawan; The Firewall Guardians — SJK Song Kheng Hai, Kuching.
In the Star category, the team STS_18 from Sekolah Tinggi Sarikei also delivered a noteworthy performance.
In recognition of these outstanding achievements, Sarawak was awarded the highest honour, the ‘Best State Award for Rookie Cyber Hero 2025’.
Commenting on their achievement, SK St David shared on their social media: “We didn’t come home empty-handed , we came home with experience, fighting spirit, and the determination to keep moving forward!”
