KUCHING: Founder and chairlady of YAST Group Esther Law has been named one of the ASEAN Outstanding Women at the 2025 ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum (ALPF), held on Sunday (May 25).
The recognition coincided with the 20th anniversary of her career in healthcare and the 10th anniversary of the YAST Group.
The ALPF is a prominent regional platform that promotes economic cooperation, inclusive growth, and business partnerships across Southeast Asia.
Each year, the forum honours distinguished individuals and companies with ASEAN Excellence Awards for leadership, innovation, and service.
In her acceptance remarks, Law dedicated the award to the collective spirit of collaboration and empowerment that has defined her journey since 2005.
“This recognition is not just a personal achievement. It reflects the unwavering commitment of the entire YAST family and the shared efforts toward a more equitable and empowered future,” she said.
Law noted that receiving the award brings with it a deep sense of responsibility.
“True leadership isn’t about basking in the spotlight, but about reflecting that light onto others,” she said.
She called for more inclusive environments that elevate every voice and drive sustainable development amid ongoing challenges.
She thanked the forum organiser, KSI, for the nomination, and acknowledged the support of her family, mentors, team, clients, and community.
Law reflected on the forum’s theme of “leadership and partnership,” linking it to the core values that shape her work, including relationship, empowerment, attitude, and leadership.
“At YAST, we believe leadership is not about control but about cultivating an environment where everyone is inspired to contribute their best selves.
“Relationships are central to empowerment, and through strong connections with partners, clients, and communities, we create a fertile ground for innovation,” she said.
Looking ahead, Law pledged to continue advancing collaborative leadership within ASEAN and globally.
