LAWAS: The construction of the new Lawas Bridge has reached 62.6 per cent and is on track for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026.
According to the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), the project is progressing smoothly and is expected to significantly improve connectivity once completed.
The bridge will serve as a vital link for Lawas and neighbouring areas, facilitating smoother accessibility while spurring trade and socio-economic growth for the Northern Region.
“Once completed, the bridge will enhance accessibility, boost trade, and spur socio-economic growth for the people of Lawas and its surrounding areas,” it said in a press statement.
The update came following a site visit by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who also chairs the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA).
