LAWAS: As a rapidly developing area, Lawas is keeping pace with progress by utilizing every available opportunity, particularly in the fields of digital economy, modern agriculture, and entrepreneurship.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the Sarawak government needs to ensure that the community in this region, including the younger generation and local entrepreneurs, are ready to use digital applications in their daily lives.
He explained that whether in business, education, or daily activities, digital technology will help improve efficiency and competitiveness.
“The Sarawak government has taken various initiatives to ensure that the state is not left behind in the global development trend. We have achieved recognition as a high-income state, and it is only right that we continue to advance along with the times.
“Let us not be left behind; instead, let us work together to improve ourselves and our communities,” he said during the Lawas District Community Iftar Programme recently.
Awang Tengah, who is also Bukit Sari assemblyman, also took the opportunity to launch the Lawas Ramadan Bazaar 2025 at Taman Awam Lawas, with 240 stalls operating.
