KUCHING: Doctors at Lawas Hospital had to seek assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel last Tuesday evening, to remove not one but two ornaments stuck on a patient – a stainless steel bangle and ring.
The 47-year-old man had his left wrist and ring finger swollen which caused the bangle and ring to constrict blood flow even further.
The Bomba team led by Senior Fire Officer Bujang Daud and four other personnel from Lawas fire station rushed to the hospital upon receiving the request from hospital at about 7.07pm.
The team arrived at 7.09pm.
It took the firefighters nearly four hours to cut off the bangle and ring from the man’s wrist and finger using a ring cutter.
The operation ended at 11.00pm.
