KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawakians and non-Sarawakians here are welcomed to participate in Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak (LBAS) 2023 to gain insights into Sarawak’s history and the state government’s development plans.
In stating this, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the LBAS this time around has over 105 booths participating from the public and private agencies and also non government organisations (NGOs) from Sarawak.
He said attendees can explore these booths to learn more about the participating agencies and the initiatives they have undertaken to benefit Sarawak and its people.
“Aside from that, the private agencies also provide job opportunities and courses for our students here.
“So I hope the students will take this opportunity to get involved in getting related certificates and courses here so that when they apply for work, they will get the job opportunity from the agecied involved.
“Having said that, we expect over 10,000 people to come to enliven our event here,” he said.
He said this when met by the media during his walkabout at LBAS at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) here today.
Expanding on the event’s significance, he mentioned that in addition to providing insights into the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), it offers a comprehensive understanding of the state’s development plans.
“The students here play an important role to fill in and grab the opportunities provided by the state government.
“For example, when we are heading towards the advancement of technology, we need skilled manpower and knowledge from the younger generation from Sarawak for it.
“Their role is important so that the state can continue to prosper,” he said.
