KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) recently stepped forward to support victims of a recent fire in Kampung Bintawa Ulu, reaffirming its commitment to community welfare through its annual corporate social responsibility initiative, LCDA Prihatin.

Carried out under the theme “From the Community, To the Community”, the initiative is part of LCDA’s broader commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, with a focus on delivering meaningful impact through social support and local outreach.

During the event, LCDA presented cash contributions to two affected families: Delima Juni, 53, and Norliza Bahari, 51, to help ease their burden following the disaster.

The contributions were handed over by Sapheri Rosli, Head of the Corporate Affairs Division, who represented the General Manager of LCDA during the brief handover ceremony.

The event was attended by local community leaders, including Penghulu Lahan Sabu, Kampung Bintawa Hilir Village Head Tahir Kassim, Kampung Bintawa Tengah Village Head Sidek Kassim, as well as members of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and LCDA officers.

LCDA expressed its compassion towards the families that were affected by the tragedy and reaffirmed its commitment to help the communities, particularly in times of hardship.
