SIBU: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Pustaka) Sibu will be organising the Sustainable Sarawak Roadshow Programme in Daro on September 27-28.
It will be officiated by Daro Assemblyman, Safiee Ahmad, on September 28.
A press release from Pustaka Sibu on Friday stated that the programme aims to increase public understanding of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how local actions in Sarawak can contribute to global sustainability, particularly in issues such as climate action, clean water, responsible consumption, and life on land.
In addition, it also involves the local community through environmental education, field activities, and public participation that are inclusive and comprehensive.
“The programme promotes government and stakeholder initiatives under the Sustainable Sarawak framework. Throughout the roadshow, various information, feedback and data will be collected to assess the impact of the programme and strengthen future interventions,” it said.
It is open to all levels of society and features a variety of exciting community activities.
On September 27, the programme will begin with an aerobics session at 6:45 am, to be followed by mutual aid activities at the Daro Playground.
The following day on September 28, the programme will be held all day at the Daro Community Hall from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with activities such as talks, Sustainable Sarawak workshops, recycling campaign, blood donation campaign, 3R Fashion Competition, and exhibition booths by participating agencies.
