SEBAUH: Minister of Food Industry, Commodities, and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, has reminded the public not to take risks by attempting to open or repair the main grid electricity supply on their own.

Instead, he advised people to be cautious and not act without professional supervision.

He acknowledged that many households still rely on electricity from the main grid, and any attempt to repair it without professional oversight could pose serious safety risks.

“At this time, we must cooperate between the public and authorities to ensure the safety and stability of the electricity supply, as well as road conditions damaged by landslides.

“Do not attempt to handle these issues without proper technical assistance,” he said during a visit to flood victims at the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at Balai Raya Sebauh yesterday.

Rundi, who is also the Kemena assemblyman, also expressed concern over road conditions that have deteriorated due to landslides following the floods.

He urged all parties to follow safety instructions and avoid dangerous routes until repair work is completed.

“This situation requires close cooperation between the public and government agencies. We must ensure that recovery efforts are carried out smoothly so that this issue does not continue to burden the community.

“Recovery measures require full support from the public and authorities to prevent the situation from worsening,” he added.

He also assured that the state government is taking immediate steps to restore infrastructure and ensure the safety of residents in affected areas.
