BACK in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) chamber, Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin is looking forward to a focused sitting, grounded in the needs of his constituents and prepared to raise their voices in the House.
Lee, who also serves as the Minister of Transport, is a seasoned politician and the leader of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin branch.
In a light-hearted yet insightful interview with Sarawak Tribune, he shared his thoughts on returning to the DUN chamber, his preparation process, daily routines, and personal reflections.

Sarawak Tribune: How do you feel about being back in the chamber?
Lee: It feels good to be back. This is part of my responsibility as a State Legislative Assembly member.
This is where real change starts for Sarawak and for our people, especially for our young people.
Sarawak Tribune: How do you usually prepare for a sitting like this?
Lee: Well, the preparation isn’t just done because of the sitting. My team and I continuously gather feedback from the ground, analyse key issues, and take notes. So, when the sitting comes around, we are ready to raise the issues that matter and seek the necessary clarifications.
Sarawak Tribune: Who styles your outfits for DUN week?
Lee: I choose my own outfits. I like to keep it simple and professional. Comfort is key, especially when you’re sitting through long sessions.
Sarawak Tribune: What’s your go-to food during DUN week?
Lee: I usually go for comfort food — not too much, just enough to keep my mind sharp and energy levels up throughout the sitting.
Sarawak Tribune: What is something about you that people might not know?
Lee: Actually, I like to read. I spend my leisure time reading as much as I can. I also exercise whenever possible.
Sarawak Tribune: Who’s your DUN BFF or bestie?
Lee: That’s a tough one. We’re all quite close across the party. I always enjoy chatting with them. So, to choose one is difficult for me actually.
