KUCHING: Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh is not one for grand promises, but he is resolute in his commitment to serve.

Contesting for a vice president post in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), he asserted that while he does not promise ‘the moon and the stars,’ he will dedicate himself fully to delivering the best for the party and the people.

Len, who has spent 32 years in public service, believes his deep understanding of government mechanisms and development policies positions him well to contribute effectively.

“Government servants are the drivers of development. You have to understand the mechanics—how things work, especially in terms of process and implementation,” he said.

As the chairman of the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA), appointed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, he sees the vice presidency as a platform to accelerate infrastructure projects, particularly in the central region.

“We have a long-term plan, especially in infrastructure development, and I can use this platform to speed up planning and implementation,” he asserted.

While acknowledging the strength of his fellow candidates in the vice-presidential race—including two full ministers—Len believes that every individual, regardless of position, has a role to play in the party.

“Of course, each of us has weaknesses, but what matters is our ability to serve and deliver,” he said.

His candidacy, he added, is not about seeking power but about continuing to contribute.

“I feel that I still have a role to play—not just for PBB, but for the whole of Sarawak.

“Land matters, for example, are crucial to development. Whatever we want to do, we need land. With my experience in this field, I believe I can make a difference,” he added.

Ultimately, Len leaves the decision in the hands of the party delegates.

“I have to work hard and convince them that I am capable. But whatever the outcome, my commitment to PBB and Sarawak remains steadfast,” he said.
