KUCHING: Senior golfers across the region have less than a week left to lock in Early Bird rates for the Sarawak International Senior Amateur Golf Championship (SISAGC) 2026, with the registration window closing on August 31.
The Asia-level championship is scheduled for October 24 and 25 at the 36-hole Sarawak Golf Club (KGS) in Kuching, bringing together veteran golfers from Malaysia, Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The tournament, approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA), is expected to feature players from more than 10 countries, with limited places available for international and Malaysian participants.
International golfers can secure the Early Bird rate at RM480, down from the normal RM550, while Malaysian golfers can register at RM400 compared with the normal RM500.
The offer ends at midnight on August 31.
The registration package includes two tournament rounds at KGS, a shared buggy, daily tournament insurance, an exclusive Player Gift Pack, breakfast and lunch, as well as an invitation to the Championship Welcome Dinner.
Competition will be divided into four age categories for Senior Men aged 55 and above and three categories for Senior Ladies aged 50 and above, with Gross and Nett cash prizes available across the divisions.
Adding another element to the competition are Hole-in-One prizes on KGS’ signature par-three holes, giving players the chance to walk away with additional rewards for a perfect shot.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and organising chairman, Datuk Eddie Abdullah, said the championship is also intended to promote Sarawak as a sports tourism destination, combining competitive golf with the state’s culture, food and hospitality.
“We want this championship to promote Sarawak as a premium legacy sport tourism project, with our legendary culinary experiences, historic colonial waterfronts and diverse cultures a rallying call for repeat visitations,” he said.
With the Early Bird deadline fast approaching, intending participants have until August 31 to secure the lower registration rate before normal fees take effect.
