KUCHING: The Leadership Institute of Sarawak Civil Service (LI) plays a crucial role in training, guiding, and shaping future leaders across various sectors.
Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak have pledged to be strategic partners in supporting the institute’s efforts to cultivate leaders who are not only knowledgeable but also possess integrity and resilience in facing contemporary challenges.
The papers’ CEO Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir said that the media’s role extends beyond delivering news, serving as a catalyst for change and intellectual discourse.
He stressed that media institutions bear a significant responsibility in shaping public perspectives, enriching discussions and inspiring future leaders.
“Leadership excellence stems from a deep understanding of current issues, history and the aspirations of the people. In this regard, the media plays a vital role in ensuring that society has access to accurate, balanced and high-quality information,” he said.
Jeniri said this during a courtesy visit by a delegation led by LI CEO Datuk Dr Adzhar at his office today (March 4).
He noted the importance of ethical journalism and information integrity, particularly in an era of information overload and misinformation.
Jeniri further outlined potential areas of collaboration between the institute and the media, including news coverage of leadership initiatives, publishing leadership-themed columns, organising forums and discussions, and leveraging media platforms for leadership education through videos and documentaries.
“This collaboration should be built on professionalism, openness and the spirit of mutual development for the benefit of Sarawak and Malaysia,” he stressed.
As such, he expressed confidence that the meeting would pave the way for more initiatives that bring significant benefits to society and strengthen long-term partnerships between the media and leadership institutions.
He also extended his gratitude to Adzhar and his delegation for their visit, welcoming further discussions to drive meaningful efforts in leadership development.
