LIMBANG: Repair works on the Limbang Waterfront embankment have reached 79 per cent physical progress and are expected to be fully completed by December 29, 2025.
The project aims to restore the riverbank area, which previously suffered structural damage due to a ‘slip failure’.
Once completed, it will enhance public safety, ensure the stability of the riverbank, and support the continuity of development in the surrounding area.
Valued at RM9.5 million, the initiative is also expected to mark a new milestone in beautifying Limbang town while strengthening its tourism appeal, as the waterfront area remains a popular destination for both locals and visitors from near and far.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg made a brief visit to the site today to observe the ongoing repair progress.
Once completed, the revitalised Limbang Waterfront embankment is expected not only to become a new landmark for the town but also to boost the local tourism industry and economic activities through a more organised, safe, and attractive riverfront development.
