MIRI :The Lions Club of Batu Niah has distributed 150 food packets to underprivileged individuals in Batu Niah, Bekenu, and Miri City until March 31 this year.
This includes the recent distribution of 15 food packets to the underprivileged group in the community-based rehabilitation centre (PDK) Batu Niah.
“The distribution aimed to leverage the day’s celebration to extend assistance to those in need,” said the Club’s president Andy Jong Wan Joon.
He said, the distribution of food packets held at PDK Batu Niah recently coincided with upcoming Hari Raya celebrations, emphasising the spirit of giving and compassion during this festive season.
“This initiative reflects the Lions Club of Batu Niah’s dedication to providing support to the community during significant cultural events,” he pointed out.
Jong said the distribution of food packets is one of the annual activities organised by the Lions Club of Batu Niah in line with The Lion International motto “We Serve.”
